Several things are happening here at ND2E that are affecting the on air operations. Several weeks ago we had a series of lightning storms that have caused the big Dell Dimension 8400 to go belly up. At least I assume that it was the storm. Along the way it has killed the com-port on the Kenwood ts-2000 that has been my main tranceiver for several years.
Since I had been running the antennas bare, without any surge protection between them and the radio, I decided that now was the time to rebuild the station antenna and ground interfaces. So we are down for a while. When the antenna feed and ground rework is complete I will be using the backup Yaesu FT-857 while the TS-2000 is out for service.
