Operating Again

It seems like a long winter's night ... Between wind events, snow, and Christmas I haven't had much time to operate. It is snowing again today and I am at home so I hope to do some operating today.

Since the last update I have solved the GX270 slow operation problem and put that computer back in service. It is slower than I want but it is stable. I have installed Ham Radio Delux/DM 780 v5 Beta. It has some nice features but is a heavy load on the computer. HRD doesn't create much of a load directly but for some reason it causes the system process to jump up to 30-50% of real time.

One of the new features is the stand-alone logging program. Right now it uploads directly to HRDlog.net and to eqsl.cc. HRDlog.net uploads automatically, while EQSL is a semi-automatic upload. LotW is the next item for semi-automatic operation and hopefully I will soon understand the mechanism to do that upload.

Currently, I am using HRDlog.net's online database to put the last 250 QSOs online on my website. Pretty neat. It even has search facilities but it is limited to only the last 250 log entries. My whole database is online at HRDlog.net which makes it interesting. I doubt that HRDlog.net will replace EQSL or LotW but it does give folks a chance to check logs and validate data.

All of this is interesting but has been getting in the way of operating and sending out QSLs for outstanding QSOs. Hopefully I ill actually get that done in the next few weeks.

I am still working on WAS 20M PSK31 only and not having much luck on the last 5 states. I need to do some contesting if I am going to complete WAS.
